Jonas Langhammer grew up in Krems in a family of passionate choir singers. He began taking piano lessons at the age of three and, thanks to his outstanding talent, was accepted into the Lower Austria talent development programme at an early age. During his training, he won numerous competitions in both piano and clarinet. At the age of 15, he began his conducting training at the Conservatory of the Diocese of St. Pölten with Otto Kargl and at the same time took over the direction of his first choirs.
Since 2024, he has been studying choral conducting with Alois Glaßner at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw). He received further artistic inspiration from Erwin Ortner, Patrick Russill (Royal College of Music) and Jürgen Puschbeck (University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar), among others.
In order to promote high-quality choral singing among young people, he founded the Krems Youth Singing Academy in 2024 and has been working as a consultant for children's and youth choirs in the Lower Austrian choir scene since 2025. He has also been the director of studies at the Blindenmarkt Autumn Days since 2025.
